The Owl and the Pussycat by Bill Manhoff, 1965

$75.00

The Owl and the Pussycat by MANHOFF, Bill, published by Doubleday & Co. in 1965. Fireside Theatre Book Club edition. Very good condition. The Owl and the Pussycat (whose title hails from a nonsense poem of the same name by Edmund Lear), was a hit Broadway play, starring Alan Alda and Diana Sands, that was later adapted for film, starring George Segal and Barbara Streisand. The comedy follows the unexpected love between a wannabe writer, who works in retail by day and an aspiring actress who works as a prostitute by night. Playwright, Bill Manhoff, went on to write for several well-known, award-winning television series, such as The Odd Couple, Sanford & Son, Room 222, All in the Family, and The Partridge Family, among others.
