Emily McGill, inventor of the Broadway Tarot Deck, attempts a reading on comedian Jenn Lederer. This is a do-not-miss comedy event at Blue Heron.

In September of this year, spiritual psychologist and multidisciplinary artist, Emily McGill released a unique tarot deck. The Hirschfeld Broadway Tarot casts Broadway icons in traditional tarot roles, complete with the timeless illustrations of Al Hirschfeld. Jenn Lederer is a comedian and story telling consultant who uses comedy to engage audiences from clubs to The Late Show. Both are unstoppable and… the best of friends. Emily McGill is a spiritual psychologist and multi-disciplinary artist. A recovering Broadway publicist turned Ivy League Witch, she’s been called “persuasive” by The New York Times. Her first tarot deck, The Hirschfeld Broadway Tarot, is available from Running Press. 

At Columbia University’s Spirituality Mind Body Institute at Teachers College, Emily earned a Master of Arts in Psychology with a focus on spirituality, researching tarot as an effective tool for self-reflection. She is a youth member of the American Psychological Association, the International Association of Applied Psychology, Psi Chi International Psychology Honor Society, the Academy for the Advancement of Postmaterialist Sciences, and the Scientific & Medical Network. 

Emily has been invited to read tarot at the United Nations, NY Fashion Week, and corporate events; in Broadway dressing rooms, private penthouses, The Museum of Broadway, and even the royal Consulate of Monaco (twice!). She has been featured by The New York Times, The Tamron Hall Show, New York Live, Bustle, and Business Insider

In a past life, Emily was a publicist and communications consultant who worked on 20 Broadway shows, representing the Tony Award-winning productions of A Raisin in the Sun starring Denzel Washington, Memphis, Billy Elliot, and Disney's The Lion King, plus shows with talents as diverse as Andrew Lloyd Webber, George Takei, Tavi Gevinson, and The Rascals. She’s also handled music, film, TV, and streaming clients at companies large and small (from HBO, and Amazon Studios, to internet startups, and non-profits. And male strippers. Yes, male strippers). She’s also co-founder of S.N.O.B. (Sunday Night on Broadway), a popup Broadway industry dance party.

Jenn Lederer is an NYC based award-winning comedian, keynote speaker, and storytelling consultant. Her work has been featured by SiriusXM, Forbes.com, The Huffington Post, Inspiring Lives Magazine, on stages at YALE, Twitter and Google Headquarters in NYC and comedy clubs throughout New York City and Europe.

Performing all over the country, internationally and virtually, too! Jenn emcees and leads workshops and keynotes helping audiences learn how to answer the one question everyone hates (but can’t avoid) “What do you do?” using the “comedian’s formula” for educating, connecting and amusing your audience.
