With over 40 years of producing award-winning audio, Fulbright Specialist, Jim Metzner pioneered the use of sound in radio. His work has been featured in Wired Magazine, the New York Times, Audio Magazine, National Geographic, the Wall Street Journal, the CBS Evening News and the Today Show. Jim’s flagship series Pulse of the Planet is widely heard as a podcast. He’s also produced features for public radio’s Marketplace, All Things Considered, and Morning Edition. In 2022, Metzner’s sound archive was acquired by the Library of Congress.
Jim will be on hand to discuss his book, Sacred Mounds, a novel of magical realism and historical fantasy, with a foreword by Hutke Fields, principal chief of the Natchez Nation.
